Breitling was founded in 1884 in the Canton of Jura in Switzerland. Breitling’s watches were initially designed for aviation use, although they are nowadays more often worn as luxury timepieces. The company uses ETA base movements in its watches that are then refinished in the Breitling factories. Breitling timepieces are sometimes as large as 48mm in diameter and can employ special functions such as a countdown timer, a moon phase display or a date display. The brand formed a sponsor with Team Bentley in 2001 and now has a specific line known as the Bentley collection.
