Chopard is a Swiss watch brand founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard. In 1975 Chopard moved its factory to the heart of Geneva. One year later, in 1976, they introduced their Happy Diamonds collection, which is extremely popular today. Watches in the Happy Diamonds collection have diamonds that float between two transparent sapphire crystal cases. In 1980, the company started producing sports watches on leather and rubber straps. Eight years later, in 1988, Chopard formed a partnership with Mille Miglia, an annual Italian race of vintage and classic cars. Since then, Chopard has produced a new special edition Mille Miglia every year. In 1993, Chopard created the Happy Sport collection to complement the Happy Diamonds collection. By 1996, Chopard had created its own movement factory in Fleurier. The first in-house movement the brand produced was named L.U.C. |
