Since the company's foundation in 1955 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, CORUM has taken pride in being a distinctively different and forward-thinking Swiss watch manufacturer. The founders, Gaston Ries and his nephew Rene Bannwart, brought together their respective strengths as watchmaker and creative designer. They transformed their small private label watch factory into a watchmaking manufacture with its own brand: CORUM. After more than 40 years of passion for fine watchmaking and the creation of numerous one-of-a-kind and unprecedented models, CORUM felt the need for rejuvenation. That was exactly what occured in January 2000 when the brand greeted the new century with the arrival of its new owner, Severin Wunderman. This internationally renowned veteran of the watch industry righted the helm of the family business, backed by his son Michael who was appointed President of the company in 2004. Together, they have set out to explore and conquer whole new horizons, guided by the spirit of adventure and distinction on which the brand has built its success.
