Zenith is a Swiss watch manufacturer founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot in Le Locle, Switzerland. Zenith is one of the only brands in the world that produces all of the movements for their watches in house. Zenith’s two signature movements are the Elite and the El Primero. The Elite is a standard movement while the El Primero is a chronograph movement. The El Primero is one of the most famous movements ever assembled and was used in the Rolex “Dayton” until 2002. The El Primero movement has a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour while the average movement has 28,800 vibrations per hour. Hence, the movement is more accurate than other movements due to a higher frequency. Zenith was purchased by LVMH in 1999. The brand’s most popular lines are the Chronomaster, Class, Port-Royal, Vintage, Defy and Star collections. |
