Watch and Brand News Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra Thin 26586PT SIHH 2018

One of the already most talked about pieces released by Audemars Piguet for SIHH 2018 is the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra Thin Ref 26586PT. The watch is the thinnest self-winding perpetual calendar at just 6.3mm thick. It sets a new watchmaking record and is just the latest in the long line of firsts from Audemars Piguet.

Both complications and ultra thin models are time-honored Audemars Piguet specialties. This watch has taken five years to develop the ultra thin 5133 calibre with perpeutal calendar. It re-engineers a three-story movement into a single level while also re-arranging functions for efficiency. The patented system features a 2.89mm central rotor. At just 6.3mm thick, it is almost 2mm thinner than the Royal Oak Extra Thin Jumbo.
