Watch and Brand News Hands on Watchmaking Class in Chicago and Philadelphia

In 2016, HSNY took its horological education classes on the road, visiting Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The classes sold out quickly and were full of enthusiastic students, all eager to learn how a mechanical watch works first-hand. For 2017 HSNY will continue its educational tour by visiting cities across the country, stopping first in Chicago and Philadelphia.

Horological Education classes will be offered in Chicago over the weekend of February 11, at Oak & Oscar’s beautiful new offices. The next weekend of February 18, HSNY will head east to Philadelphia, where it will hold classes at Pipeline Workspaces in Center City, just blocks from Govberg Jeweler’s flagship showroom.

Assessing the repairs needed on a watch
At HSNY’s award-winning classes, students discover what makes a watch tick. The hands-on course is taught by HSNY’s staff of professional watchmakers. Students work on a mechanical watch movement, studying the gear train, winding and setting mechanisms, and escapement. This four-hour course covers everything taught during the four individual courses usually held in New York City.

Enrollment is now open for the Chicago and Philadelphia classes. Make sure to sign up soon before the spaces are filled!
