Last night was the 88th Annual Academy Awards and more than just the Hollywood elite were present on the red carpet. The stars dressed to the nines in their tuxedos and gowns but some of the biggest stars also dressed up their wrists! Here are just a few of the watches that were spotted last night, what watches did you see?
Red Carpet Watches
Known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Comics turned movie franchise, Chris Evans dressed a little different than his typical Captain America suit. He was dressed in a classic black tuxedo with satin lapels and bow tie. Although he wasn’t nominated for anything, he did take the stage last night to present an award for sound mixing.
To top off his tuxedo, Evans could be seen wearing an IWC Portugieser Hand Wound Eight Day in rose gold with an ardoise dial. This classic dress watch paired perfectly with his tuxedo and on the red carpet.
Another presenter, not up for any awards was Dev Patel. He is best known for his role in Slumdog Millionaire; a role in which he won many awards. Last night while presenting, he could be seen wearing an IWC Portugieser Automatic in stainless steel with a white dial.
The Portuieser Automatic with a white dial was the perfect addition to his tuxedo. The bright white dial drew eyes directly to his wrist. The blue hands played off of the darkness of the tuxedo rounding out his style.
Omega Ambassador and British style icon, Eddie Redmayne was spotted wearing a Globemaster, the world’s first Master Chronometer. He was nominated for his role in The Danish Girl. The Globemaster features striking silver and grey details which complemented the actor’s individual take on a formal black tie. Redmayne is not afraid to take style risks with his wardrobe, although the would be classified as the perfect pair rather than a style risk.
The Globemaster features a simple yet captivating design with it’s sleek case, fluted bezel and classic “Pie Pan” dial. At its core, the watch is driven y the Omega Co-Axial Master Chrnometer Calibre 8900 with anti-magnetic technology.
