Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Reviewed: Luxury Mens' Watches For Holiday Season 2020

Contact for pricing and availability; Either I have it, or I can get it! Holiday shopping for men’s watches never has been more fun! Tim Mosso’s curated selection of the best luxury watch brands and models hails from the world leading WatchBox inventory of preowned luxury watches. From Audemars Piguet to Zenith and every watchmaker in between, this is a definitive bi-weekly showcase of all watch sizes, styles, and price points. Luxury watch buyers, watch collectors, and watch enthusiasts know that “Wake Up with Watches” is YouTube’s only guided luxury watch safari. Today’s flagship watch is the 2019 6,969 piece limited edition Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Apollo XI 50th Anniversary. This 42mm chronograph is an exquisite commemoration of Omega’s role in the 1969 Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. A stainless steel case paired with bespoke Omega “Moonshine” pale gold gives way to a matte dial with yellow gold applique indices, gold print, and an 18-karat laser-ablated plaque at nine o’clock depicting one of the first three astronauts to set foot on the moon. Another laser ablated image of the famous first footprint is featured on the Moonwatch’s case back. Inside the case, the first-ever Lemania-based Moonwatch chronograph caliber with a Co-Axial escapement also includes a silicon hairspring, extra power reserve, and a METAS Master Chronometer certification. Rolex’s classic executive watch, the Day Date 36mm, here arrives in its redesigned Baselworld 2019 form with a new 70-hour caliber 3255 automatic movement. The makeover includes a spectacular green gradient fade Rolex “ombre” dial, but Rolex aficionados will recognize this design as a descendent of the vintage Rolex “vignette” dials. A Rolex President bracelet in matching yellow gold completes this compelling package. Finally, the most discussed new model line of 2019, the Audemars Piguet Code 11:59, here arrives in its most celebrated form. Never a matter of controversy, the beauty of the Code 11:59 Perpetual Calendar was recognized from day one by discerning watch collectors. With a spectacular aventurine dial, an intense red gold case, and a Royal Oak “Jumbo”-based caliber 5134 automatic movement, the Code 11:59 was the only instant classic from the inaugural AP Code 11:59 model line. • 32:46 A.
