Rolex Submariner Date VS Omega Seamaster Diver & Breiting SuperOcean: Shopping For Dive Watches

Contact tmosso@thewatchbox.com for pricing and availability; Either I have it, or I can get it! Rolex, Breitling, and Omega preowned watches are on the table as Tim Mosso rallies watch collectors to “Wake Up with Watches.” YouTube’s only curated video gallery of the best luxury watch brands showcases fine preowned watches from the industry leading WatchBox inventory. From dive watches to chronographs to pilot’s watches, this ride never slows down as Tim showcases everything from steel sports watches to tourbillon watches and all watch styles in between. This is where watch buyers find their new flames. Rolex watches in two white metals take the spotlight on todays program. Baselworld 2007 served as the launch stage for the grandeur of this white gold Rolex GMT Master II with diamond paved lugs, crown guard, and bezel. For good measure, the rotating bezel also includes baguette cut blue sapphires. Despite the pomp, this Rolex GMT still functions as a dual time pilot’s watch with the same COSC chronometer precision and 100-meter water resistance as a standard GMT Master II. Moreover, the Rolex Oyster bracelet ensures a rugged and masculine wrist presence. The Rolex Submariner Date “Kermit” is a Z-series example of the celebrated “50th Anniversary Submariner” first launched at Baselworld 2003. With a “maxi” dial and green anodized aluminum bezel insert, this was the first version of Rolex’s iconic dive watch to wear the company’s signature corporate green color. It’s still a 300-meter diving watch with unidirectional rotating bezel and a solid end link (SEL) Rolex Oyster bracelet to match. An Omega Seamaster is the perfect riposte to any suggestion that Rolex dominates the dive watch segment. White the Rolex Sub is more famous, the Seamaster is a better deal. For less than $5,000, a current-generation Omega Seamaster Diver 300M offers superior resistance to magnetism relative to the Submariner while providing a view of its movement and a more sophisticated clasp. Even better, the Omega Seamaster Professional offers more dial and bezel combinations. This example features the acclaimed combination of a black ceramic bezel and a white ceramic dial. For those who prefer the ultimate combination of capability and value, Tim has included a Breitling SuperOcean 42mm with a lush “Intrepid Orange” dial. 500-meter capable dive watches don’t come much more affordable than this, and COSC Swiss chronometer certification ensures that Breitling’s diver is as adept as keeping time as this episode’s 2007 Rolex Kermit. • 37:35 A.
