Watches & Wonders Predictions from Around the World | Watch Market Highlights | Global Market Wrap

Welcome to the WatchBox Global Community! With Watches & Wonders on the horizon, Mike Manjos welcomes WatchBox colleagues and fellow enthusiasts to our second edition of Global Market Wrap for a discussion on market happenings and Watches & Wonders predictions. Joined by Zoe Abelson in Hong Kong, Patrik Hoffmann in the heart of the industry in Switzerland, Glenn Meijer in Singapore, and Christophe Nicaise in Dubai, Mike leads the quintet in speculating about the upcoming virtual event. Before turning to Watches & Wonders, each participant offers insight into their local markets, along with inventory highlights and key trends. Noteworthy watches discussed today include the Daniel Roth Academic Ellipsocurvex Chronomax Masters Chronograph, the Louis Moinet Memoris Superlight, the MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual Calendar EVO, and of course, the many watches designed by Gerald Genta, plus those that are Genta-inspired. Also discussed is the rising popularity of independent watchmakers and brands in Hong Kong and Switzerland, and the shared admiration for H. Moser & Cie.’s Streamliner across the WatchBox ecosystem. Now, on to the really good stuff! The conversation moves to predictions and personal wish lists for Watches & Wonders. Patek Philippe and Rolex are naturally in the spotlight with anticipated updates to the Nautilus, and perhaps the Annual Calendar. Rolex’s Explorer II has a big anniversary this year, and we are eagerly awaiting model updates or special editions. And what if Rolex introduced a highly complicated watch…? Glenn throws IWC into the mix with his desire for a new Ingenieur SL. Tune in to the episode for more and let us know what you think about these predictions. What’s high atop your Watches & Wonders prediction list? Let us know in the comments, and thanks for watching!
