The Graham London watch brand traces its origins to the innovative British clockmaker George Graham (1673-1751), a unique individual responsible for many innovations and developments in modern timekeeping. He is credited as the ‘father of the chronograph,’ for he was the first to construct a mechanism (for a clock) capable of measuring the duration of an event, the dead-beat cylinder escapement and the mercury pendulum to compensate for temperature differences. George Graham also built the master clock for the Greenwich Royal Observatory, which defined time for much of the 18th century.
Today, Graham London is a privately owned Anglo-Swiss watch company, designing and building watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds that are inspired by the company’s namesake. Graham London watches are instantly recognizable for their modern aesthetic, unique proportions, and innovative functions.
