With that inspiration, Grand Seiko uses a simple case design composed of a flat plane and curved line that respond to the movement of light. Grand Seiko creates this hard-edged, flat-surfaced case through a process called Zaratsu, or blade polishing. Hand-polishing gives the case a mirror-like smoothness where light and shadow play.
Grand Seiko makes watches with three different kinds of movements: mechanical, quartz, and Spring Drive.
